Sue has worked for the Community Council for 7 years as a Rural Housing Enabler following over 20 years in the social housing sector working for Housing Associations, Local Authorities and local Devon charities. In 2011 the Rural Housing Service became a social enterprise with the consequent challenge of generating an income from its services. She has never been self-employed herself but spent much of her teenage years helping in her parents business.
Since 2008 she has been assisting the WDB project with the Gala Dinners and a number of evaluations. "Working with WDB has been a hugely positive experience and it has been a great delight to meet so many enthusiastic and motivated women".

Moved to Devon from Bristol in 1980 to open a 10 bed roomed Guest House. Sold the business in 1985 to spend more time with her growing family. Gail started catering for friends, local organisations and businesses which she did for 10 years, anything from small family christenings to large sit do
wn Dinners and Weddings.
‘I wish that there has been something like the ‘Women Do Business" project around then so that I would have had the support and knowledge to start off in a professional manner from the beginning rather than the adhoc basis I did'.
Having an administrative background Gail is very happy to be able to provide the administrative support for the work Jan and the Women Do Business project cover.
